The random room generation makes some enviroments difficult to climb and if you happen to fall even a short distance you take damage. The lack of healing, the vast number of enemies with ranged attacks, and the damage the character takes from failing a jump make the game far more difficult than it should be to be enjoyable. If you like Dark Souls level difficulty, try this game on for size.. The looks of this game are really cool. It's super pretty and the music is fitting while you are roaming. However, the game just kind of falls on its face.The combat is absolute garbage. You press X to swing...well there you go. No heavy attacks or light attacks or sheilding or parrying. Just kind of swinging and jumping. I'm not even going to call it dodging because it is literally just jumping. I guess there's your off hand weapon, which is usually a ranged thing but it doesnt really do much in the line of health since your energy doesnt recharge without pickups.The fall damage in a 2D platformer is an interesting choice the developer added...and it was stupid. I don't want to spend an extra 3 minutes going back through the platforms I just crossed so I can get back to the bottom without taking damage. It just adds extra time for no real reason it seems. That being said, I did say ♥♥♥♥ it and just jump to the bottom. Lastly, they seemed to have jammed a base defense into this game as well but I got agitated already with the other things so I never messed with that. The crafting system is trash as well. My first crafting blueprint was for the very last weapon on one of the trees. Guess what is useless until I find more of the blueprints up to that one? Not to mention there's just so many freaking blueprints. I don't like items being locked behind RNG.There could be something redeeming about this game somewhere, which there has to be based off a few of the positive reviews, but all in all this game just doesn't seem polished. It's close, but not quite there.. I've anticipated this game for awhile now and this game delivers.This game brings back old memories with modern graphics and mechanics. I am reminded of various platform games from the SNES days such as Tomba, Megaman, Castlevania and all of the best platformers added into 1 modern game. This is actually a better remake of a platformer than Mighty Number 9 which was supposed to be a remake of Megaman.This game is very impressive and I've spent over 3 hours playing this game last night without getting bored. That is an accomplishment since I don't often spend more than 2 hrs on video games on average.Looking forward to playing it again tonight, it's quite challenging and fun to see upgrade as you progress in this game.The value is also great, you will not be dissapointed!. such a good game makes you feel like your in toy land. Good game. Very creative. I love it!. If you like a game where you need to obtain resources to build your base but every night, you have the chance to lose all your progress without any control over it, be my guest.Definetely not my kind of game. (And I am a big dark souls fan) The problem here lies in the fact that you have no control over whether you lost stuff during raids or not. The only thing you can do is build up your defenses. But to build those defenses, you have to accumulate ressources. And those very ressources will inevitably get stolen as you try to accumulate enough Nuts to start the construction. And that's without talking about the fact that the raids can take away your entire treasury. (I had 487 nuts, I die, they steal 487 nuts, leaving me with only my night's yield)Good thing I got this game in a Humble Bundle or I would have asked for a refund already.. Extremely boring and its too long. A must have if you love action rpg's random rooms, lots of upgrading and crafting. Lots of dying. It's a lot like the castle game where you die you build up your character type based on the tier system. It's got lots of unique bad guys weapons and the sort. Creepy music as well. Crying babies will be heard... I'm so excited with this classical gameplay, its worthwhile
